Start by preheating your air fryer to 380 degrees F according to your air fryer’s directions. As these pizza rolls don’t cook that long, I have found preheating the air fryer for 2 or 3 minutes is enough so the air fryer ready to cook the pizza rolls.

Add in the pizza rolls in a single layer to the preheated air fryer. Touching is ok but you don’t want them piled up on each out. That keeps them from getting crispy. Plus you will want to have a little room to shake or turn the pizza rolls over so they cook up evenly.

Air fry the pizza rolls at 380 degrees F for 5 to 6 minutes. Give the air fryer basket a good shake to move the pizza rolls around or use tongs to turn them over.

Air fry for another 3 to 4 minutes or until the pizza rolls are golden brown and crispy.

While the pizza rolls are cooking in the air fryer make the garlic parmesan butter sauce. Melt the butter in a bowl. Add in the garlic and parsley. Stir to combine.

Mix in the parmesan cheese.

Add in the cooked pizza rolls and toss to coat in the garlic parmesan sauce. Serve and enjoy!

How Do You Keep Pizza Rolls From Exploding?

If you may pizza rolls then you’ve seen that there are some that explode while cooking. This is caused by the sauce and cheese in the center heating quickly and forming steam. The steam has to go somewhere so it will cause the tomato sauce and gooey cheese to explode out of the side of the pizza roll.

There are several things you can do to cut down on the number of pizza rolls that explode. You can start by breaking up the cooking time and allowing the pizza rolls a short cool down period before finishing the cooking. If the total cooking time if 8 minutes then you can try cooking for 4 minutes, allow a 2 to 3 minute cool down period and then cooking for the remaining 4 minutes.

You can also try to provide a spot for the steam to escape while the pizza rolls are cooking. The seams of the dough are sealed to keep the contents inside. By poking a small hole in the dough this can allow the steam to escape and not build up.

To me this seems like a whole lot of work just to get pretty pizza rolls that are going to be quickly gobbled up in the end. The pizza rolls that have sauce leaking out taste just as delicious as the others so I don’t bother trying to solve this issue.

How To Reheat Pizza Rolls:

You can reheat the pizza rolls in the air fryer. to make crunchy pizza rolls. Place in a single layer in the air fryer basket and heat at 380 degrees F for 2 minutes or until they are warmed through and the crust has started to crisp up a bit.

Do I Need To Spray The Basket With Non Stick Spray?

No you don’t have to spray your air fryer basket with oil or cooking spray before making pizza rolls. Add them directly to the basket and air fry. Air fryer baskets are already have a non stick surface and the pizza rolls aren’t cooked long enough to stick to it.

You also don’t need to line your air fryer basket with a piece of parchment paper. However, if you want to cut down on clean up of the air fryer basket you can use the parchment liner or a silicone liner to make clean up easier.
